India’s fifth-seeded pair Yuki Bhambri and Dhakshineswar Suresh advanced to the men’s doubles quarterfinals at the Asian Games with a 6–1, 7–5 victory over Kazakhstan’s Beibit Zhukayev and Denis Yevseyev.
They now face the third-seeded Chinese Taipei combination of Ho Chenjui and Hsu Yu-hsiou for a place in the semifinals. A victory would assure the Indian pair of an Asian Games medal, with the losing semifinalists receiving bronze.
