Nirbhay Agarwal, Saatvi Mardaniya Crowned J30 Ahmedabad Champions

Ahmedabad, September 12: The J30 Ahmedabad – Juniors World Tennis Tour tournament concluded on Saturday with a day of decisive finals, as Nirbhay Agarwal (USA) and Saatvi Parag Mardaniya (IND) emerged as the singles champions.

In the Boys’ Singles final, second seed Nirbhay Agarwal produced a dominant performance against Lakshya Vardhan Chukka (IND), winning 6-0, 7-5. Nirbhay was in complete control in the opening set and, despite a stronger challenge from Chukka in the second, held his nerve to close out the title in straight sets.

The Girls’ Singles final produced the tournament’s biggest upset, as unseeded Saatvi Parag Mardaniya stunned top seed Disha Kumar (IND) [1], racing to a convincing 6-2, 6-1 win. Saatvi maintained her momentum throughout to hand the No. 1 seed a comprehensive straight-sets defeat.

In the Boys’ Doubles final, Amrit Dhankar (IND) and Can Lawani (CHN) got past the fourth-seeded pairing of Saksham Bhansali (IND) and Prateek Sheoran (IND) 6-4, 1-6, [10-8] in a tightly fought title decider.

The Girls’ Doubles title went to Prachi Malik (IND) and Aditi Paturi (USA), who eased past top seeds Disha Kumar (IND) [1] and Riddhi Shinde (IND) [1] 6-0, 6-1.

The tournament signed off with an all-Indian singles final on the girls’ side and a home favourite pushing hard in the boys’ final, headlined by Saatvi Mardaniya’s upset triumph over the top seed — a fitting end to a strong week for Indian junior tennis in Ahmedabad.
