Indian junior players – Manas Dhamne, Yuvan Nandal, Aryan Shah and Aman Dahiya in Boys and Shruti Ahlawat in Girls entered the semifinals at the MSLTA-PMDTA ITF Asian B1 Championships being organised by MSLTA PMDTA and played at the Deccan Gymkhana Courts in Pune.
This is the 1st time in the history of the Asian Junior Championships that all the 4 semi-finalists are Indians in the Boys draw. All the 4 of them were pitted against non-Indians in the quarters and came up triumph.
This is an important event in the context of the Junior Grand Slams qualifications as this is the 2nd biggest event outside the Grand Slams in terms of points. The winner of this tourney pockets 300 ranking points. Someone from 2005 or later born with 400 points can block their spot for the Australian Open Juniors qualifying event.
