16-year-old Indian-origin junior Macksimus Malhotra (USA, 1445) captured his 1st ITF Junior singles title of 2026—and the 3rd ITF Junior singles crown of his career—at the J60 Santo Domingo tournament, known as the Copa Mangulina, held from October 12 to 17, 2026 on outdoor hard courts at Centro Nacional de Tenis Parque Del Este in the Dominican Republic. Returning after 10 months out of singles competition, the Fort Lauderdale teenager went 6–0 across the week and defeated 2nd seed Thiago Silveira (BRA, 2389) 7-5, 6-2 in Saturday’s final to claim his 1st singles trophy at the J60 level, adding to the back-to-back J30 Tegucigalpa singles titles he won in 2025.
Playing after a 10-month layoff from competitive singles play, Malhotra (USA, 1445) went 6–0 across Group G and the knockout draw to lift his 1st ITF Junior singles title of 2026 and his 1st career trophy at the J60 level. The victory marks his 3rd career ITF Junior singles title overall, following his back-to-back J30 Tegucigalpa singles titles in Honduras in June 2025, alongside his J60 Santa Tecla boys’ doubles crown won with Sean Peng in May 2026.
Unbeaten 6–0 run from Group G to the trophy
Malhotra (USA, 1445) opened his campaign with a dominant 3–0 sweep of Group G in the round-robin stage, dropping just 4 games across 3 matches. He defeated Vinicius Barbosa (BRA, 4098) 6-0, 6-2, Simon Normandin (CAN, unranked) 6-0, 6-1, and Guillermo Andres Rodriguez (DOM, 2587) 6-1, 6-0 to advance into the 8-player knockout draw.
In the quarterfinals, Malhotra rallied from a set down to upset 1st seed Marc-Edouard Lallier (CAN, 818) 3-6, 7-5, 6-3. He followed up that comeback by beating qualifier Ethan Huller (CAN, 3278) 6-3, 6-2 in the semifinals before closing out 2nd seed Thiago Silveira (BRA, 2389) 7-5, 6-2 in the championship match.
Doubles semifinal finish alongside top seed Lallier
Malhotra also reached the boys’ doubles semifinals at J60 Santo Domingo alongside quarterfinal singles opponent Marc-Edouard Lallier (CAN, 818). After a 1st-round bye, the duo defeated Jeremy Orlicki-So (USA, 2403) and Alexander Stefanov (CAN, 1649) 6-2, 6-3 in the quarterfinals before falling 6-7(4), 6-3, [8-10] to Antonio Carlos Castellanos (GUA, 702) and Jeronimo Neira (COL, 1844) in a match tiebreak in the last 4.
