Maaya Rajeshwaran Reaches First Junior Grand Slam Doubles Semi-Final at US Open

🇮🇳 Maaya Rajeshwaran Revathi and 🇺🇦 Antonina Sushkova continued their impressive run at the US Open Girls’ Doubles, defeating the fourth-seeded pair 6-4, 6-4 to book their place in the semi-finals.

After stunning the fifth seeds in the previous round, the unseeded duo produced another composed performance against a higher-ranked opponent, securing a straight-sets victory in the quarter-final.

Maaya had the chance to serve for the match and delivered in style, sealing victory with an ace on match point to send the pair into the last four. 💪

The result marks Maaya’s first Junior Grand Slam doubles semi-final, following her run to the quarter-finals at Wimbledon earlier this year.

The Indian-Ukrainian duo will now face the 🇺🇸 Penickova twins in the semi-finals. Adding an interesting subplot to the encounter, the American twins will celebrate their 17th birthdays on Friday. 🎂

With two seeded teams already knocked out, Maaya and Sushkova will look to continue their giant-killing run and reach the US Open Girls’ Doubles final.
