Hailing from Mysuru, Karnataka, Padmapriya balances her rigorous athletic pursuits with her education as a student at Excel Public School, Mysuru. She comes from a family deeply rooted in public service, born to Dr. P. Ramesh Kumar, Chief Conservator of Forests (Project Tiger, Mysuru), and Dr. Malathi Priya, Chief Conservator of Forests (Chamarajanagar Circle).

In a recent interview, Padmapriya expressed immense gratitude toward her grandparents. With her parents frequently busy with their demanding professional roles, her grandparents continually travel with her to tournaments. Their unwavering support has been instrumental in enabling her to compete at a high level without distraction and has played a massive role in her rapid ascent up the AITA rankings.

Her development on the court is guided by a dedicated local training team in Mysuru. She hones her tennis skills under the tutelage of coaches Raghuveer Ponnuswamy and Pawan, while keeping in peak physical condition with the help of fitness coach Sagar.

A Burgeoning Career

Padmapriya’s stellar performance on the world stage is just the latest milestone in her rapidly rising career. Back home in India, she has firmly established herself as the absolute best in her age group:

• She currently holds the Number 1 rank in the AITA Girls Under-14 category, an elite position she has remarkably maintained since September 2025.
• She is already making waves in older age divisions, recently breaking into the Top 20 of the AITA Girls Under-16 national rankings.
• On the international circuit, her recent successes have propelled her ITF Junior Ranking to an impressive No. 1327 globally.
