Manas Dhamne Reaches Singles Quarterfinals of ATP 50 Liège Challenger

Indian teenager Manas Dhamne continued his impressive run at the ATP 50 Liège Challenger, booking a place in the singles quarterfinals after a dramatic 7-6(4), 7-6(5) victory over Austria’s Sandro Kopp (ATP 293).

The 18-year-old displayed remarkable composure under pressure, saving three set points in the opening set before surviving four more in the second. Dhamne then produced an extraordinary comeback in the second-set tiebreak, recovering from a 5-2 deficit to seal the biggest win of his week.

The match, however, ended in controversy. On match point, Kopp questioned whether Dhamne’s return had bounced twice before being struck. With no video review available, the point stood, handing the Indian youngster victory.

Earlier in the tournament, Dhamne had also battled past Uzbekistan’s Sergey Fomin in three sets to reach the Round of 16.

The quarterfinal marks Dhamne’s fourth ATP Challenger-level quarterfinal of the 2026 season and another encouraging milestone in his rapid rise on the professional circuit.

He will next face the winner of the all-European clash between Spain’s Miguel Damas (ATP 280) and Belgium’s Alexander Blockx Baillly (ATP 210) for a place in the semifinals.
