Pune, April 20, 2026: Indian girls Diya Ramesh and Jensi Kanabar moved into the second round of the girls singles event at the MSLTA Deccan Gymkhana Asia Oceania B1 Junior Tennis Championships organised by the Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association and Deccan Gymkhana, in association with PYC Hindu Gymkhana, and played on the Deccan Gymkhana tennis courts.
In the opening round, seventh seed Diya Ramesh was given a fight by Australia’s Emilie Chen before winning 6-1, 7-6(0), while upcoming youngster Jensi Kanabar pulled off a 6-4, 6-2 win against Satima Toregen of Kazakhstan. In the boys section, Riku Nakamoto of Japan upset sixth seed Aradhya Kshitij 6-1, 6-3, while Eva Korysheva of Kazakhstan upset fifth seed Miku Kitaoka of Japan 6-2, 7-5 to make it to the round of sixteen.
The tournament was inaugurated by Mr. Sunder Iyer, Hon. Secretary of MSLTA; Mr. Mihir Kelkar, Secretary of Deccan Gymkhana; Mr. Girish Inamdar, Finance Secretary of Deccan Gymkhana; Dr. Vikrant Sane, Tennis Secretary of Deccan Gymkhana; and ITF Supervisor Leena Nageshkar.
