Sweden has defeated India 3-0 in the World Group I tie. The Swedish duo of Andre Göransson and Filip Bergevi wrapped up the tie by winning the doubles rubber 6-3, 6-4 against India’s Sriram Balaji and Ramkumar Ramanathan.

This follows two straight-set singles losses for India on the opening day. Elias Ymer had beaten Balaji 6-4, 6-2, and Leo Borg followed up with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Ramanathan, leaving India unable to recover.

With the doubles loss, India’s chances of making a comeback were dashed, sealing the tie in favor of Sweden.
