US Open debutant Sriram Balaji and his Argentine partner Guido Andreozzi put up a valiant fight in the second round of men’s doubles but fell short against the 8th-seeded duo of Michael Venus (New Zealand) and Neal Skupski (Great Britain). After a closely contested first set, Balaji and Andreozzi lost 6-7(4), 4-6.
The pair had earlier sealed a thrilling win in the 1st round over Reyes-Varela and Daniell.
Despite the loss, the Indian-Argentine pair showed resilience, pushing their higher-ranked opponents to the limit. This marks the end of their impressive run at the 2024 US Open, with Balaji leaving a positive impression in his US Open debut. Final result below –
