Poonacha/Bollipalli Storm into Semis of Acapulco Challenger

The Indian doubles duo of Niki Poonacha and Rithvik Bollipalli continued their impressive run at the Acapulco Challenger, storming into the semifinals with a commanding straight-sets victory over second seeds Matthew Romios and Piotr Matuszewski.

Taking to the court with confidence, Poonacha and Bollipalli looked sharp right from the outset, breaking their Aussie-Polish opponents early in the opening set. Though Romios and Matuszewski tried to mount a fightback, the Indians’ solid serving and aggressive returns kept them firmly in control en route to claiming the first set 6-4.

Carrying that momentum, the duo stepped up their intensity even further in the second set. Poonacha’s deft touches at the net combined beautifully with Bollipalli’s booming groundstrokes as they overwhelmed the second seeds with a barrage of winners.
