The Indo-Kiwi pairing of Yuki Bhambri and Michael Venus lost to the 2nd seeded Croatian-American pairing of Ivan Dodig and Austin Krajicek in the first round of the ATP Miami Masters 1000 event. Krajicek is currently ranked number one in the individual ATP Doubles Rankings. Bhambri & Venus won 63 points as compared to their opponents’ 64, but ended up on the losing side. This was Bhambri’s ATP Masters 1000 doubles debut.

It may be recalled that Bhambri and Venus, who are good friends, made the 3rd round of the 2014 Australian Open as wildcards, before losing to Paes/Stepanek.

Coincidentally, Bhambri had lost to the formidable pairing of Dodig/Krajicek in his last event as well (semi-final of the ATP 500 Dubai Open last month with partner Robin Haase).
