This year’s Wimbledon Semi-Finalist and 4th seed Tatjana Maria shared her thoughts on the Chennai Open WTA 250 tournament and playing against India No. 1 Ankita Raina. ITD Member Srividya was part of the media conference conducted.
“We just arrived this morning, so I just practiced with my daughter for 1 ½ hours, it was nice. The hotel was super super nice, everybody helped us a lot and it was a really nice welcome for us and I’m really happy to be, for the first time, with my family in India.”
On being asked about playing Indian No. 1 Ankita Raina in the first round, Tatjana said, “To be honest I didn’t see her for quite a while, but I know her of course. It’s not an easy match, because, I mean she is the home favorite let’s say and, yeah, it will not be easy for me because she is a good player. So, I have to be ready, and I have to prepare myself really well.”
