Ankita wins another doubles title in Kazakhstan, Prarthana reaches final in Lativa : Weekly round-up for the week starting July 11

Ramakumar Ramanthan played singles and doubles in Newport, ATP on grass. He had a disappointing loss in first round qualifying in singles but in doubles along with his Australian partner JP Smith reached the SF.’

Rohan Bopanna joined back with Matwe Middlekoop with whom he had reached French open semi final but lost in first round at Bastad ATP.

ATP Challenger Tour

Only Sumit and Mukund played singles at qualfiers for challengers in Europe and USA respectively but Sumit lost in first round of qualifying against 2021 French Open runner up and Mukund lost in second qualifying round.

In doubles, pairs of Yuki-Saketh, Jeevan-Balaji and Arjun with his partner lost in the QF’s of their respective challengers.

Prajnesh made his comeback from close to 3 months injury break in a 25K futures in Kazakhstan and made it thru to the SF before losing to local player in 3 close sets. He will continue at a challenger there next week.

Both Ankita Raina and Prathana Thombre had good weeks with Ankita winning the title at W25 in Kazakhstan and Prarthan reaching the final at W60 in Latvia. After this week Prartha will make her way back into top 200 and Ankita is getting closer top 125.
