Ramkumar, Yuki win to give India 2-0 lead

The Indian team looked in brilliant form on day 1 of the round one play-offs of the Davis Cup tie against Denmark. They were supported by a huge crowd of Indian fans who came in large numbers to watch this tie. The tournament director, Aditya Khanna, did a fantastic job of creating a breathtaking atmosphere at the Delhi Gymkhana Club.

Ramkumar Ramanathan was up against Christian Sigsgaard in the first singles match of the day. The Indian number 1 didn’t disappoint the fans and played a good match to beat his Danish opponent with a score line of 6-3 6-2.

Next up was Yuki Bhambri. He played against Mikael Torpegaard ranked much higher than him and having a fierce serve as his weapon. Yuki overcame the challenge and won the match 6-4 6-4. This gave India a 2-0 lead with the doubles tie and the reverse singles to be played on day 2.
