In a great week for Indian Tennis, Nagal reaches challenger Semifinals, Jeevan/Purav lift Lisbon Challenger : Week of 27th Sep -Indian Tennis Roundup


The Indo -Pak express was back as Rohan Bopanna teamed up with his longtime friend Aisam Qureshi in Sofia ATP in Bulgaria but lost in first round against third seeds and eventual runner up team. 

Last week’s title winners Sania Mirza and Shuai Zhang lost in first week at San Diego WTA tournament in US. The pair who beat them has gone on to reach the final. 

Rutuja Bhosale got yet another chance to play a WTA tournament along with her British partner Emily Webley Smith of Great Britain but lost in first round.

ATP Challenger Tour

Sumit Nagal had his best week on challenger tour this year when he reached the SF of a challenger in Romania where he lost against top seed and eventual champion Italian Stephano Travglia, With that Sumit has ended his season. Arjun Kadhe reached the doubles semi final in the same challenger. 

Jeevan Nedunzheziyan and Purav Raja won the doubles title this week at Lisbon, Portugal. This was Jeevan’s first title in 3 years and their maiden Challenger title together.
