Rohan Bopanna in Roland Garros Doubles Quarterfinals : Week of 31st May – Indian Tennis Roundup

French Open-

This year we had Rohan Bopanna and Divij Sharan in mens doubles and Ankita Raina in womens doubles. Divij and Ankita lost in R1 in close matches but Rohan Bopanna has progressed to the quarterfinals. Rohan Bopanna/ Frank Skugor will be facing the Spanish duo of Martinez / Nadikar in the quarters.

ATP Challenger Tour –

Ramkumar Ramanathan played one more week on clay before moving to grass and had one good win before losing in a close match in second round. Sasi Kumar Mukund got a chance to play in the main draw of a challenger after some time and had an excellent upset win in first round over a seed before falling in 3 sets in second round.  Ramkumar along with Balaji made the doubles SF while Mukund also reached the doubles SF. Jeevan Nedunzheziyan got back together with Purav Raja after some time but they lost in first round in first tournament together.

Siddhant Banthia has returned to ITF circuit during his summer break in US college circuit. Last week he made the doubles final with Indian origin New Zealand player Ajit Rai. This week in singles he qualified thru and had a very good upset over second seed in first round but he retired midway thru second set in second round.
