Basavareddy capped off an impressive tournament with a straight-sets victory over Igor Marcondes (ATP 324) in the championship match, prevailing 7-5, 6-4. The title run is highly rewarding for the 21-year-old; he earns 75 ATP ranking points and pockets $17,000 in tournament prize money as the singles champion.
As a direct result of lifting the trophy, Basavareddy’s ATP ranking is projected to climb significantly, jumping 28 spots from No. 167 to a new career-high of No. 139.
