Yale graduate Vignesh Gogineni delivered a masterclass performance at the ITF M25 Edwardsville tournament, clinching the professional singles title while dropping just one set all week.

The American, who was born in Fairfield but has spent his entire life in Cincinnati, showed incredible form throughout the hard-court event. Gogineni’s roots trace back to Andhra Pradesh, India, where his parents emigrated from in the mid-1990s. His mother hails from the small town of Tenali, while his father is from Visakhapatnam (Vizag)—and boasts his own athletic pedigree, having played cricket for Andhra University.

Gogineni capped off his sensational tournament run with a commanding straight-sets victory over Ozan Baris in the championship match, overcoming multiple higher-ranked opponents en route to the trophy.
