Kriish Tyagi Builds Momentum with Semifinal Run During Curro Centre Court Series in South Africa

19-year-old Indian Kriish Tyagi enjoyed a productive three-week campaign at the Curro Centre Court Series in Hillcrest, South Africa, steadily improving his performances across two ITF M15 tournaments before concluding his run with a strong showing at the M25 event.

After reaching the second round in the opening M15, Tyagi bounced back with a breakthrough semifinal finish the following week before rounding off the series with a notable victory over a seeded opponent at M25 level. The consistent results reflected the youngster’s growing confidence and development on the ITF World Tennis Tour.

Week 1: M15 Curro Centre Court Series

Tyagi opened his campaign with a hard-fought 7-6(4), 6-4 victory over South African wildcard Reuben De Klerk before his run was ended in the second round by second seed Alec Deckers.

Week 2: Semifinal Breakthrough at the Curro Centre Court Series

The Indian responded in style at the second M15 event. He defeated Filippo Francesco Garbero, fellow Indian Chirag Duhan (6-3, 6-3) and Britain’s James Beaven (6-0, 6-4) to reach the semifinals.

Tyagi’s impressive run was halted by eventual champion Khololwam Montsi, but the semifinal appearance marked his deepest run of the South African swing.

Week 3: Strong Finish at the M25

Stepping up to the M25 Curro Centre Court Series, Tyagi continued his positive run by defeating seventh seed Rocco Piatti 7-5, 6-2 in the opening round before exiting against Britain’s Charlie Robertson in the second round.

A Successful South African Swing

Across the three tournaments of the Curro Centre Court Series, Tyagi demonstrated steady improvement with each passing week. From a second-round finish in the opening event to a semifinal appearance the following week and a seeded victory at M25 level, the 19-year-old collected valuable ATP ranking points and valuable experience against quality opposition.

The performances will provide a significant confidence boost as Tyagi looks to carry this momentum into the second half of the 2026 season.
