By finishing 4th overall in the grueling regional qualifiers, India secured one of the highly coveted four spots to represent Asia/Oceania among the world’s top 16 elite junior tennis nations later this autumn in Europe.

The Dream Campaign: Undefeated Group Stage Dominance

Coached by national captain Rana Banerjee, the Indian squad—comprising the country’s brightest young talents Tavish Pahwa, Hruthik Katakam, and Ribhav Saroha—put on an absolute masterclass early in the tournament to top Group C with an all-win record:

  1. India beat Indonesia (2–1): Tavish Pahwa gave India a good start with a singles win. Next up, Ribhav Saroha battled relentlessly for 2 hours and 46 minutes in a grueling singles match before narrowly falling to Rafalentino Ali da Costa (6-4, 5-7, 3-6). Later Tavish and Hruthik Katakam combined to seal the deciding doubles rubber.
  2. India beat Malaysia (3–0): A clinical, flawless clean sweep across all singles and doubles matches established India’s rhythm.
  3. India beat China (3–0): In the group decider, India dismantled a strong Chinese delegation. Tavish Pahwa gave India an explosive start by thrashing Junze Wu 6-1, 6-3. Hruthik Katakam followed with a clinical 6-3, 6-2 triumph over Hongjin Qi before the team swept the doubles to finish the group stages completely undefeated.

After storming through the decisive quarterfinals to seal their top-4 status, India ran into incredibly tough opposition in the final rounds, falling to hosts Kazakhstan in the semifinals and Japan in the 3rd-place playoff.
