In the girls’ final lasting nearly three hours, fourth seed Siyoen Sim of Korea faced some anxious moments before overcoming a fighting 14-and-a-half-year-old Jensi Kanabar 6-4, 3-6, 6-3.

Kanabar led 4-1 in the first set before the Korean found her rhythm and won the first set. Jensi played intelligent tennis to win the second set; however, the Korean raced to a 2-0 lead in the third set and kept the pressure on to win her biggest title, which will move her into the top 50 in the junior rankings next week.

This finalist finish for Jensi will also ensure she moves into the top 200 bracket.

In a tight boys’ singles final, top-seeded Hyu Kawanishi of Japan claimed his second career win over local hope and second seed Arnav Paparkar. In a match lasting 2 hours and 10 minutes, the 17-year-old Kawanishi edged out Paparkar 7-6(4), 7-6(2) in two tight sets in front of a packed home crowd.
