Zeel Desai is into the final of HCL ITF W15 Gurugram after a commanding semifinal display against sixth seed Ekaterina Yashina of Russia (WTA 675). Third seed Desai (WTA 617) was in complete control throughout, sweeping past Yashina 6-2, 6-2 to book her spot in the title match.

It capped off a solid run through the draw. In the quarterfinals, Desai had to dig deep against fifth seed Michika Ozeki of Japan (WTA 651), dropping the opening set 3-6 before regrouping to take the next two 6-3, 6-4. The semifinal, by contrast, was a statement win from Zeel, who looks eager to make it 2 titles in 2 years at Gurugram.

She will now face seventh seed Polina Kuharenko of Belarus in the final. A win would give Desai her fifth career singles title, as she will be looking to make it back-to-back titles at Gurugram.
