Sumit Nagal Set to Begin Wimbledon Qualifying Campaign Against Giulio Zeppieri

India’s No.1 tennis player Sumit Nagal is set to kick off his Wimbledon qualifying campaign against Italy’s Giulio Zeppieri. The two players share a 1-1 head-to-head record, with both previous encounters taking place on clay courts.

Nagal will be aiming for his first professional win on grass, while Zeppieri comes into the match with momentum after recently qualifying for Roland-Garros, where he lost to Carlos Alcaraz in the opening round.

Zeppieri, a left-hander, reached a career-high ranking of 110 in 2024. Nagal, by contrast, has a higher peak ranking of 68.

The match is scheduled to be held on either Monday or Tuesday, with the exact timing yet to be confirmed.
