19-year-old Aryan Shah, currently ranked ATP #462, has advanced to the semi-finals after a string of impressive victories — including comeback wins and dominant performances.
Shah kicked off his campaign with a gritty Round 1 win over American Adit Sinha (ATP #1142), prevailing 6-4, 5-7, 6-2. After dropping the second set, Shah regained control in the decider, showcasing his composure and physical endurance.
In Round 2, he delivered one of the most dramatic victories of his career, defeating Mexico’s Luis Carlos Alvarez Valdes (ATP #850) 6-7(7), 6-4, 7-6(5). The match featured a series of incredible comebacks from Shah — recovering from 1-3 down in the second set, 0-3 in the third, and remarkably saving five match points in the final set tiebreak after trailing 0-5. The win marked his third consecutive quarter-final appearance on the ITF circuit.
Shah carried that momentum into the quarter-finals, where he outclassed Mexico’s Alan Fernando Rubio Fierros (ATP #753) with a commanding 6-2, 6-3 win. The straight-sets victory underlined Shah’s growing confidence and maturity on court.
He now prepares for a challenging semi-final showdown against home favorite and ATP #436 Roberto Cid Subervi. With his recent form and fearless attitude, Shah will be looking to extend his dream run to the finals.
