Hitesh Chauhan Puts Up Heroic Fight Against Junior World No.9 at Roland-Garros Juniors

Qualifier Hitesh Chauhan delivered a spirited performance against Junior World No.9 and reigning Australian Open finalist Benjamin Willwerth in the Round of 32, thrilling spectators on a packed Court 8.

After dropping the first set 2-6, Chauhan staged a stunning comeback to claim the second set 6-2. In the deciding set, he led 4-2 and held a break point to go 5-2 double break up, but missed the opportunity. Despite suffering a painful fall and injuring his left shoulder — requiring a medical timeout — the Indian teen battled bravely.

Ultimately, Chauhan narrowly lost in a match tiebreak, with the final score reading 2-6, 6-2, 6-7 [6-10]. Ranked No.83 in the junior circuit and unranked on the ATP Tour, Chauhan’s performance against the much higher-ranked Willwerth (ATP #1176) showcased his immense potential and fighting spirit.
