Nitture Stuns World No. 228 Cirez in Thrilling Ahmedabad Upset

Ahmedabad, India – In a stunning upset, India’s Akanksha Nitture overcame a tough challenge from Spain’s Carlota Martinez Cirez, ranked World No. 228, to secure a 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 victory in the second round of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) W50 event in Ahmedabad.

Nitture’s victory marks a significant milestone in her career, as she expressed in a post-match interview, “I’m still processing. I have had close matches recently against top 300 players. This is, I think, my first top 300 win.”
