The Tamil Nadu Tennis Association (TNTA) President, Vijay Amritraj, received a cheque of ₹1 crore from Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin to support the hosting of the ATP Challenger Tournament in Chennai, scheduled to begin on February 3rd. The cheque was presented during an event held yesterday, where Udhayanidhi Stalin congratulated TNTA for their efforts in organizing the tournament.
In a tweet, Udhayanidhi Stalin stated, “ATP tournaments in Chennai have a unique identity in international tennis events. One such event, the ATP Challenger Tournament, will be held in February. On the orders of the Honorable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M.K. Stalin, we presented a cheque of ₹1 crore from the Tamil Nadu Champions Foundation to the President of the Tamil Nadu Tennis Association, Mr. Vijay Amritraj, to facilitate the successful conduct of the Chennai ATP tournament.”
The Tamil Nadu Tennis Association expressed their gratitude to the Tamil Nadu government for its continued support of tennis events. They highlighted the importance of such contributions in maintaining Chennai’s legacy as the tennis capital of India.
