Dalibor Svrcina Wins Singles Title at MSLTA 25K Men’s ITF Tennis Tournament

Mumbai, November 17: Second-seeded Dalibor Svrcina of the Czech Republic upset top-seeded Khumoyun Sultanov of Uzbekistan to claim the singles title at the MSLTA 25K Men’s ITF Tennis Tournament. The tournament, organized by the Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association (MSLTA), concluded at the GA Ranade Tennis Complex.

In a thrilling final lasting 2 hours and 12 minutes, Svrcina defeated Sultanov 3-6, 6-1, 6-2 to secure his second title in two weeks. After losing the first set, Svrcina displayed fluent and aggressive tennis, breaking his opponent’s serve at regular intervals in the second and third sets. Sultanov, ranked 231 in the world, appeared hindered by a thigh injury sustained during the second set and struggled to recover thereafter.

With this victory, Svrcina received the singles trophy, $3,600 (₹3 lakhs), and 25 ATP points, which will boost his ranking by 38 places. Runner-up Sultanov was awarded $2,120 (₹1.8 lakhs) and 16 ATP points.

The prizes were presented by Mr. Sunder Iyer, Hon. Secretary of MSLTA, and Mr. Manoj Vaidya, CEO of MSLTA, in the presence of ITF Supervisor Nitin Kannamwar.
