Krisha Mahendran triumphs at Japan Open Junior Championship!

Rising Indian tennis star Krisha Mahendran has clinched the doubles title at the prestigious Japan Open Junior Championships in Miki, Japan. Partnering with Turkey’s Ada Kumru, the duo delivered a dominant performance in the final, defeating the Australian pair of Elizabeth Ivanov and Sarah Mildren with a convincing 6-3, 6-3 scoreline.

This victory marks a significant achievement for the 157th-ranked Mahendran, who also made a strong run in the singles competition. She showcased her talent and determination by overcoming Cocomi Saito (JPN, 584), Mikuni Kitaoka (JPN, 620), and Lidia Podgorichani (THA, 89) en route to the semifinals. Her impressive run was eventually halted by Ava Beck (AUS, 148) in the semis.

Mahendran, who has committed to the University of Southern California for college tennis, continues to demonstrate her potential on the international junior circuit. This latest triumph in Japan further solidifies her status as one of India’s most promising young tennis talents.
