Indian tennis player Parikshit Somani has shared an update on his prolonged injury struggle, expressing optimism about his return to the court. Somani, who was ranked 256th in the ATP Doubles Rankings before a wrist injury sidelined him in March, revealed that his injury was a result of a “domino effect” from an old shoulder issue and Ankylosing Spondylitis.
In a statement, Somani said, “Wrist down, but spirit up! 5 long months of dealing with this pesky injury, only to realize it’s a domino effect of my old shoulder and Ankylosing Spondylitis. Huge thanks to Heath Matthews for figuring out the root of the problem and getting my wrist pain-free!”
He also expressed gratitude towards Indian tennis legend Sania Mirza for her crucial guidance during this challenging period. “Couldn’t have done this without your guidance Sania Mirza, thank you for pointing me in the right direction.”
Somani also acknowledged the efforts of physiotherapist Darshan Shenoy for crafting a solid rehabilitation program and emphasized his determination to address the underlying issues affecting his shoulder, back, and hip. He concluded his update with excitement about his return, stating, “Can’t wait to be back in action starting Monday!”
Somani’s injury hiatus has been a difficult period, but with his recovery on track, Indian Tennis enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting his comeback.
