Sumit Nagal to face Miomir Kecmanovic on Wimbledon Debut

Indian tennis sensation Sumit Nagal will face 53rd ranked Miomir Kecmanovic from Serbia in the opening round at Wimbledon. Nagal comes into the tournament without having played a pro match on grass in 6 years, with his last match being a 2-6 0-6 loss against Kamil Majchrzak at the Wimbledon Qualifying in 2018.

The match is expected to take place on Monday, with the exact schedule yet to be announced. Nagal and Kecmanovic go way back, having played the junior circuit together.

Kecmanovic has had an impressive grass season thus far, having made the quarter-final at ATP 250 Eastbourne this week, where he beat Zhizhen Zhang, a semi-finalist at ATP 500 Halle last week.

Nagal got to Wimbledon early to practise on the grass and trained with players like Jack Draper, Lloyd Harris, etc. He was also seen with Rohan Bopanna at the practice courts.
