Mumbai, 20 June: Bank of Baroda has appointed Indian tennis player Sumit Nagal as its brand endorser, reflecting the bank’s commitment to supporting emerging Indian athletes on the global stage.
Sumit Nagal, 26, will focus on engaging with a younger audience and promoting products designed for this demographic, in line with the bank’s strategy. Currently the highest-ranked Indian singles tennis player, Nagal achieved a career-high world ranking of No. 71 on June 17, 2024, and secured a spot in the Indian Olympic team for Paris. In January 2024, he made history as the first Indian in 35 years to defeat a seeded player in a Grand Slam men’s singles match at the Australian Open.
Sumit joins the ranks of other esteemed Bank of Baroda brand ambassadors, including PV Sindhu and Shafali Verma.

Born in 1997, Sumit Nagal excelled in tennis early, winning Wimbledon in 2015. Recently, he made history at the Australian Open and won ATP Challenger titles in Europe. In 2024, he became the first Indian in 49 years to qualify for the Monte Carlo Masters and secured a Masters 1000 victory on clay by defeating Matteo Arnaldi.
