India’s No. 1, Sumit Nagal continues his impressive streak with nine consecutive wins over the past 11 days, advancing to the final of the ATP Perugia Challenger in Italy.
In semi-final, Nagal faced Spaniard Bernabe Zapata Miralles. In a tight first set, Nagal clinched the tiebreaker 7-6(2). Zapata fought back strongly in the second set, winning 6-1. However, Nagal regained control in the deciding set, winning 6-2 to secure his place in the final.
Nagal will face the winner of the Luciano Darderi vs. Daniel Altmaier match in the final tomorrow.
This marks Nagal’s 10th Challenger final and his third of 2024, following victories in Chennai and Heilbronn. With a perfect record in Challenger finals this year, Nagal is aiming to secure his 7th career ATP Challenger title.
