Sumit Nagal To Make Grand Slam Doubles Debut At Roland Garros

May 30, Paris, France – India’s No.1 singles player will make his Grand Slam doubles debut at the ongoing Roland Garros, aka French Open, in Paris. Coincidentally, Nagal also made his singles debut here a couple of days ago, where he lost to World No. 18 Karen Khachanov. Khachanov had good words to say about Nagal post the match.

Nagal, with his Austrian partner Sebastian Ofner, has gained a last minute entry as alternates in the doubles draw. They will take on 2nd seeds Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden in the 1st round on Friday.

Nagal doesn’t play too much doubles on the pro tour. However, it may be recalled that he is Junior Grand Slam winner in doubles, having won the 2015 Junior Wimbledon Boys’ Doubles title with Nam Hoang Ly from Vietnam.
