Sriram Balaji to partner former World No.1 Nicolas Mahut at ATP 250 Geneva Open

The recently crowned ATP 175 Cagliari Open doubles champion, Sriram Balaji, will partner former doubles World No.1 Frenchman Nicolas Mahut at the ATP 250 Geneva Open beginning on 18th May in Switzerland. Balaji is currently competing with Andre Begemann at the ATP 75 Francavilla al Mare Challenger on clay in Italy.

Following his title win in Cagliari with partner Andre Begemann, Balaji rose to 83rd in the latest ATP Doubles Rankings released on 6th May. Balaji is the current India No.3 in doubles behind Rohan Bopanna (4) and Yuki Bhambri (55). On the other hand, 42 year old Mahut is currently ranked 52nd in the ATP doubles rankings.

Geneva, alongside Lyon, is one of the two last Tour level clay court tournaments ahead of the French Open, the biggest clay court tournament of the tennis season. India No.2 Yuki Bhambri will play in Lyon with partner Albano Olivetti from France, with whom he won the ATP 250 Munich Open on clay last month.
