Karan Singh and Vaishnavi Adkar Headline Indian Tennis Teams for the upcoming BRICS Games in Russia

BRICS Games is a yearly multi-sport event organised by the countries of BRICS; namely – Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Iran, Egypt, Ethiopia, and the United Arab Emirates

The Indian Tennis teams were announced for the upcoming BRICS Games to be held in Kazan, Russia from June 13 to 19, 2024. The Tennis part of the event will be held at the Kazan Tennis Academy. Tennis will account for 2 medals and will have the Mens and the Womens team tennis competitions.

As per the official press release, the BRICS Games will feature 29 sports: Boxing, Breakdancing, Beach Volleyball, Beach Handball, Kayaking and Canoeing, Rowing, Judo, Karate, Kurash (belt wrestling), Track n Field, Table Tennis, Swimming, Diving, Sambo, Swimming, Skateboarding, Athletic Gymnastics, Tennis, Wushu, Fenching, 2 on 2 Basketball, 2 on 2 Football, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Chess, Weightlifting, Badminton and Equestrian Sports. A total of 389 medals will be awarded across the 29 sports.

Good Performance by the Indian Tennis Team in the last edition

The Indian Tennis team had participated in the previous edition in Kwazulu Natal in South Africa in 2023. The mens team secured the Silver medal while the Women’s team secured Bronze.
