Indian no 2 Sahaja Yamalapalli had a tough draw as she was to face top seed and world no 84 Kayla Day in the first round. Sahaja had defeated Kayla in the first round of the WTA Mumbai this year so for the American this was an opportunity for revenge.
The top 100 player gave no chance to Sahaja and scored an easy 6-2 6-0 win to enter the next round.
