Maaya Rajeshwaran part of the Indian team for the Junior BJK Cup Qualifying in Kazakhstan

Junior prodigy Maaya, a recipient of the ITF US$50,000 grant for her potential, will be the big name to watch out for as the Indian team selection got announced by the All India Tennis Federation on Monday.

Maaya would be joined by the promising juniors Diya Ramesh and Yashika Shokeen. 14-yr old Maaya is ranked 161 in the ITF World Junior rankings while Diya and Yashika are ranked 539 and 1068 respectively.

The Asia / Oceania qualifying competition would be held in Shymkent, Kazakhstan from 13-18 May 2024.

The other teams in the fray are Australia, China, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Korea, Rep., New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Uzbekistan, Vietnam.

Four nations from Asia/Oceania will advance to the Finals in both Billie Jean King Cup Juniors. The Finals will take place in November (dates and venue to be confirmed).
