The clay court season gets underway next week, with the ATP 250 Marrakech being one of the three stops, and Indian tennis fans have a reason to cheer. India No.1 Sumit Nagal, currently ranked 97th in the world, has secured a spot in the main draw.
Nagal, who was originally in the alternates list, made the main draw list after Brazil’s Thiago Seyboth Wild withdrew from the event. Marrakech offers valuable ranking points and a chance to test himself against top competition on his favorite clay surface.
Laslo Djere, World No.35 and two-time ATP Tour champion, leads the field. Other seeded players include Sebastian Ofner (40), Daniel Evans (43), and Lorenzo Sonego (53).
The unseeded draw also boasts intriguing names. Three-time Grand Slam champion Stan Wawrinka (currently ranked 83rd) will be looking to recapture past glories, while 2021 Wimbledon finalist and former World No.6 Matteo Berrettini also adds sheen to the event.

Entry List for the tournament
Marrakech promises to be a thrilling week of tennis, with players vying for ranking points and the coveted championship title. Can Nagal rise to the challenge and make a deep run on the clay? Only time will tell, but his inclusion adds another layer of excitement to the tournament.
