Bopanna storms into Miami final; will regain World No.1 ranking

Bopanna also becomes just the 2nd Indian to make the final of all 9 ATP Masters 1000 events

Top seeds Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden secured their spot in the Miami Open final by defeating 4th seeds Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos with a commanding 6-1, 6-4 victory in the semi-finals.

This victory marks Bopanna’s 14th ATP Masters 1000 final appearance and his first in Miami, showcasing his ageless prowess on the court. The duo’s seamless coordination and strategic play were on full display as they avenged their loss to Granollers and Zeballos in the Shanghai final back in 2023.

For Bopanna and Ebden, this is their 5th ATP Masters 1000 final as a pair, a testament to their formidable partnership and complimentary nature. Bopanna also becomes just the 2nd Indian (after Leander Paes) to make the final of all the 9 ATP Masters 1000 events. This is Bopanna’s 63rd ATP Tour level final (25 titles).

As Bopanna gears up for yet another title showdown, he is also set to regain the World No.1 ranking regardless of the result in the final.
