Nagal replaces Nadal in Indian Wells

Sumit Nagal has entered the Indian Wells Main Draw as a Lucky Loser (LL) and will take on former World No.3 Milos Raonic post Rafael Nadal’s withdrawal. Nagal, who had lost a tough match in the final round of qualifying, was the second highest ranked player to lose in the final round of qualifying, behind Jurij Rodionov. Rodionov had gotten in after Alexei Popyrin’s withdrawal earlier.

This will be Nagal’s ATP Masters 1000 Main Draw debut. It may be recalled that Nagal had made his Grand Slam Main Draw debut at the 2019 US Open against another legend Roger Federer.

The match will take place on Friday, 8th March at around 7.30AM IST and will be telecasted on the Sony Sports Network and streamed on SonyLIV.
