Sahaja Yamalapalli to lead Indian Challenge at ITF W35 Nagpur; Romanian Irina Maria Bara given top billing

Upcoming Indian Players Sahaja Yamlapalli , Shrivall Bhamidipathy , Zeel Desai , Vaidehi Chaudari will have an opportunity to win important points as they will clash with players from over 15 countries at the $25000 Maha Ujar
ITF Women’s Championships which will be organized by the Nagpur District Hard Court Tennis Association (NDHTA) in association with Maharashtra State Lawn tennis Association (MSLTA) under the auspices of the ITF , AITA and to be played on the clay courts of the MSLTA Tennis Academy Tennis Complex at Ramnagar here.

Mr Sudhir Bhiwapurkar Treasurer of MSLTA and The tournament director of the event , informed that The championships will offer total prize money of $ 25,000 (Rs. 21 Lakhs ) is being supported by MAHAURJA.

This will be the fourth ITF event to be organised in Maharashtra after Mumbai and Solapur and the first 50k event at Pune . The event finds high level of participation having drawn Top women’s tennis players from 15 countries.

Sahaja Yamlapalli and Shrivalli Rashmika Bhamidipathy who were selected as members of the Indian Fed Cup team to play at China later will join Vaidehi Chaudari and Zeel Desai in the Main Draw.

While the winner will receive WTA 70 points and prize money of $ 6,094 (Rs.2,45,000/- approx) , The runners up will receive 42 WTA points and prize money of $3,257 (Rs.1,30,600/- approx) , the semifinalists 25 points and prize money of $1789, the quarterfinalists 13 points and prize money of $1029 and the pre- quarterfinalist 7 points and prize money of $ 624 points. The first round loser will receive 1 points and prize money of $ 370.

There will also be points and prize money for the qualifying rounds the second round qualifying looser will get 4 points and $ 95 , the third round qualifier loser will 2 get $ 153 totaling $ 2744 . The doubles winner pair will get the points and the winner getting $2230, the runners up $1115 , the Semifinalists $557, Quarterfinalist $304 and the First round $ 203. Totaling $ 7299

ITF Gold Badge Refree Sheetal Iyer will be the ITF referee of the event.

A special organising team comprising of Mr Kumar Kale President NDHTA , organising secretary Vijay Naidu Council member of MSLTA, Mr Vikram Naidu has been formed for ensuring smooth conduct of the event.
