Rohan Bopanna/Mathew Ebden and Yuki Bhambri/Saketh Myneni make to the semi finals of ATP tournaments : Weekly round-up for the week starting April 17

ATP Tour

Rohan Bopanna had an excellent run to the semi finals of Barcelona ATP 500 which included upset win over 4th seeds Mate Pavic and Nikola Metkic in the first round. They lost to top seeds Kookhof and Skupski in the semi final.

At Munich ATP 250, pair of Yuki Bhambri and Saketh Myneni had their career best win over third seeds Lammons and Withrow in the first round and reached SF before losing to hot team from Austria in the SF.

ATP Challenger Tour

After the start of his clay season, Sumit Nagal had lost in first qualifying round in the first 2 weeks of challengers. But, this week he turned it around as he qualified for main draw and had a very good first round result too before he lost in a close match in the second round against 7th seed.

All the pairs involving Indian players got knocked out in first round this week at challenger level.

ITF Tour

.On ITF tour, another disappointing week in Indonesia as Ramkumar Ramanathan and Digvijay Pratap Singh again lost in first round at M25 in Jakarata. Hope they have better results in third week,

On womens side, Ankita Raina and Rutuja Bhosale moved from Uzbekistan where they played for India in BJKC cup last week to Nottingham, UK.

It seems they struggled to adjust to cool and windy conditions as second seed Ankita got upset in first round and Rutuja lost in second round. They had a good run to the final in doubles though,

Prarthana Thombre played doubles at W100 in Charlesten in US along with Indonesian Jessy Rompies and reached the SF with a nice upset win over second seeds in QF before losing in a close match in SF.
