India go down 3-2 to Denmark despite Nagal’s great fight against World No.9 Rune

An in-form Sumit Nagal had the world no.9 Holger Rune on the ropes in the 1st set, having two set points on his serve at 5-4 40-15, but lost 12 of the next 13 points to lost the set 7-5. In the 2nd set, one break of serve was enough for the top 10 Rune to take the set 6-3.

But what actually put the Indian team in the backseat was the loss in the must-win doubles rubber, where Rohan Bopanna and Yuki Bhambri suffered a meek loss to the team of Rune and Inglidsen, losing 2-6 4-6.

However, Prajnesh Gunneswaran won the dead 5th rubber for India, beating 19 year old and former junior #21 Elmer Moller 6-4 7-6, to avoid a 4-1 defeat.
