Rohan reaches QF at Washington, Yuki-Saketh win 4th challenger title of the year : Weekly round-up for the week starting August 1

Rohan Bopanna started his US hardcourt season in Washington along with Matwe Middelkoop. They had a good run to the semi finals there.

ATP Challenger Tour

On challenger tour, Sumit Nagal had 3 good wins after a long time, coming thru qualifying in a challenger in Czech Republic and then winning the first round match against an experience player. Then, lost a narrow match in second round against top seed local player ranked 65 .

Yuki and Saketh started their US hardcourt season with a challenger in Lexington where they won their 4th challenger title of the year. They keep progressing up the rankings and Saketh is at 117, close to his career high doubles ranking and Yuki at 138 at his career high.

Mukund and Divij/Purav also played there and had decent wins before losing in second round and semi final respectively.

ITF Tour

Karman Kaur Thandi too played in Lexington in the womens 60K being played there and had couple of good wins there in the main draw before losing in the QF against current NCAA champion.

Ankita played in a W100 in Poland and lost in a close match in first round.

Rutuja played in W60 in Spain on clay and also won a round there in singles.

There was another good run by Riya Bhatia in a W25 tournament in Brazil on clay. This was one of the weakest field one would get at W25 level where Riya was the 4th seed. But, importantly Riya made it count and justified her seeding to reach singles SF and also made it to the doubles final.

Prajnesh countnued in Gerorgia and this week made it to the singles SF. Still some way to go before he gets back to his best it seems but he is making some progress.
