Pune, December 23: Top seed Nefisa Berberovic, second-seeded Anna Danilina of Kazakhstan, third-seeded Chihiro Muramatsu of Japan were sent out packing in the quarter-finals of the women’s singles, while Rutuja Bhosale remained the only Indian in the draw reaching the doubles semifinals at the 20th  edition of the NECC Deccan ITF $25000 Women’s Tennis Tournament organised under the auspices of the ITF, AITA and MSLTA by Deccan Gymkhana and sponsored by National Egg Coordination Committee (NECC) and being played at the Deccan Gymkhana Tennis Courts.

In the quarter-finals, 698th ranked Ekaterina Reyngold of Russia played a superlative game to our top seed and world ranked 336th player Nefisa Berberovic of Bosnia Herzegovina  6-4, 2-6, 6-4.

In one of the best matches of the day, tall and lanky Uzbek fifth-seeded Nigina Abduraimova knocked out second-seeded Kazakh Anna Danilina  6-1, 2-6, 6-4.
