Wildcard entrant Sumit Nagal staged a mini fightback from 2-6 0-4 down, but it wasn’t enough as the former junior world number one, Ricardas Berankis, clinched home the match in straight sets

The match was close in the 2nd and 3rd sets, with only a few points deciding the match. Speaking on Sumit’s performance, Somdev Devvarman, a member of Sumit’s coaching staff, said – “Sumit is still away from Grand Slam level tennis. We will work on getting him there soon”
