Ankita Raina and Ekaterine Gorgodze were the last team to enter the doubles draw on the basis of their rankings. So it would be safe to say that the title win would have come as a huge surprise for everyone, Ankita included.
“I want to thank Eko(her partner, Ekaterine Gorgodze). She has great fighting spirit. We were the last team to get in. So it was unreal to win the tournament”, said Ankita, during the presentation ceremony.

“It’s really tough times, so a big kudos to the tournament organisers who were able to put all of this together. We, as players, were looking for tournaments to play in given the year that has been. So it has been a huge blessing to have the opportunity to be able to play here”, said Ankita, thanking the tournament organisers.
On the back of this win, Ankita will move up to a career high WTA Doubles Ranking of 117 on Monday.
