Sumit qualifies for ATP 250 Sardinia Open : Week of 12th Oct – Indian Tennis Roundup

This week Sumit played at a new ATP tournament in Sardinia, ATP on clay while Ramkumar played a challenger in Spain. Sumit qualified thru to the main draw with a couple of good wins in qualifying but ran into red hot Serbian Laslo Djere in first round while Ramkumar lost to 17 year old prodigious Spanish talent Carloz Alcaraz in 2 hard fought sets. Interestingly, both the players who beat the Indians, went on to win their respective tournaments. So, hopefully we will see our players having this breakthrough type of tournament soon.
